Removal of track five and ballast during the Block of Line
Over the last month the Martinus New Zealand team have made good progress with the removal of track five's rails and ballast. The team also erected hoardings and barrier rails between track five and track four to allow the installation of reinforcement and to prepare for the new track five concrete slab.
Preparation of sub slab track five for reinforcement to be installed
During the Block of Line shut down over Labour weekend, the team removed a section of track four. They also realigned the track and overhead power to line up with the new adjacent track five.
Track four realigned into a new position
During the past month's Block of Line shutdowns and night shifts, other work has been progressing. This includes cable containment, overhead line installations and the installation of new signal sub ducting between the tracks in the tunnels.

All the works being undertaken contribute to optimising rail operations in preparation for the City Rail Link opening.

Link Alliance - Construction Update

With Appendix 26's physical work nearing completion, the team is focused on ensuring handover goes smoothly - including documentation, certification, and any minor remediation required.

Mechanical, electrical, fire and hydraulic works are essentially complete, along with inspections, testing and commissioning.

Installation of the signalling equipment rooms is underway in both the eastern and western ends of the station. Traction power containment has been installed at the eastern end of the station - an excellent milestone!

Link Alliance's Appendix 26 team is heading towards completing their scope of works
