FAQs - What you need to know

  • The event will take about an hour and a half, including time for health and safety inductions and light kai and drinks at the end.

  • Because this is a construction site, there is limited room which is why we have to strictly limit numbers.

The small group of winners will be accompanied by CRL staff and representatives from the CRL Mana Whenua Forum to walk through the new station. At the end, we will gather for hot chocolate and a biscuit.

  • You will be led through the construction site by CRL staff and Mana Whenua Forum representatives. You will need to wear the personal protective gear necessary for the specific event. We will provide all necessary PPE. You must be able to safely navigate the construction site unaided or without assistance.

  • Please allow extra travel time as entry may not be possible after the start time. You will need to be present for the health and safety induction at the beginning to be able to join the site tour.

  • As explained, numbers are very limited and we have allocated space for a total of 10 people from the public to attend. Extra people will not gain admittance.

  • Because it is a construction site, sorry but there is an age limit. Only those 16 years and over can attend. No animals are also permitted.

  • Unfortunately, due to the fact this event is occurring on a construction site below ground, it is not possible to accommodate attendees with mobility constraints. You must be able to safely evacuate in the case of an emergency.

  • Paid-for car parking is available in the city centre including in the Auckland Council’s nearby Aotea Centre carpark. However, why not leave the car at home and take public transport? You can plan your journey here.
