Seven Sharp revisits

This month we gave the friendly folk from TVNZ’s Seven Sharp a tour of the first bored tunnel with our CEO Sean Sweeney. Electric buggies transported everyone through the tunnel starting at Maungawhau Station (Mt Eden) going all the way to Te Wai Horotiu Station (Aotea) via Karanga a Hape Station (Karangahape).

Reporter Michael Holland donned his oversized hi-vis pants (we promise a smaller size was offered) and set off down the tunnel, stopping along the way to interview workers.

As a nod to last year’s segment, some 32 metres below ground, in the Karanga a Hape Station (Karangahape) cavern, Holland mentioned how the project had “come a long way” since his last visit.

We look forward to the progress we will have to show when the team at Seven Sharp pay us a visit next year.
