Mercury Lane superstructure begins
Things are starting to look up at Karanga a Hape Station (Karangahape), City Rail Link’s deepest station.
During June, the team installed the first set of vertical columns for the Mercury Lane superstructure. Standing at 15 metres, these columns will span the heights of the structure and will set the foundations for crossbeams to be attached.
The superstructure will be the station entrance building on Mercury Lane and will be the gateway for thousands of commuters every hour during peak times once the CRL opens.
The building will feature a striking ceiling that reflects the vast canopy of kauri trees that had once existed within the area.
