It’s official! The first contract of our massive $4.4 billion project is complete - clearing the way for rail tunnels to be built at Mt Eden.

How do you feed the world and fight climate change at the same time?

A theoretical answer is being robustly put to the test in Auckland’s first inner city organic market garden.

In stark contrast to the massive infrastructure associated with digging twin rail tunnels deep below the country’s largest city, a small forest of native trees is waiting in the wings to play its part in City Rail Link project completion.

The aboveground enhancement works on Albert Street between Wyndham and Customs Streets continue in earnest, now that 350m of underground CRL train tunnels have been built.

Delivering the country’s largest infrastructure project takes some seriously talented people, so in this new section “Faces of the CRL” we’ll take a look at some of City Rail Link’s best and brightest.

Hordes of students from schools across Auckland were given a behind-the-scenes look at New Zealand’s largest-ever infrastructure project, thanks to the Wonder Week initiative.
