Christmas Works and Closures

CRL and its contract partners are making the most of the silly season, when many Aucklanders head out the city on holiday, to do some much needed uninterrupted work on vital pieces of infrastructure. Please note the following information for construction over the summer break.

KiwiRail’s Christmas Block of Lines
KiwiRail will complete important improvements and maintenance work across the entire rail network between 26 December 2020 – 10 January 2021 while no trains are running. For more information on this and how it may impact you, please click here.

Mt Eden Station
Construction activity will still take place over this holiday period to make the most of the Block of Lines, within the working hours of 7am-10pm.
The site office will be closed from 23 December 2020 - 5 January 2021.

Karangahape Station
Mercury Lane and Beresford Square sites will be shut down from 24 December 2020 - 4 January 2021.

Aotea Station
The Aotea Station will be partially closed from 23 December 2020 – 5 January 2021, however limited works will take place between 29 December 2020 - 31 December 2020.

Britomart Station
The CRL C1 site will closed between 23 December 2020 - 5 January 2021.
The Britomart Train Station has slightly different closure times. The street-level plaza will remain open throughout, however the train platform level will be closed from COB 25 December 2020 - 17 January 2021.

Public Transport
From 25 December 2020 - 4 January 2021, most public transport services will be operating to a holiday timetable. Use the Journey Planner or visit the Auckland Transport website to plan your trip before you travel.

City Rail Link
City Rail Link’s head office will be closed from 24 December 2020 - 5 January 2021. If you have any questions or concerns about CRL project works please contact the stations teams on:
