Earlier this month City Rail Link Ltd, in partnership with Auckland Transport, announced four proposed te reo Māori names for the CRL stations.
As part of the official naming process, City Rail Link Ltd and Auckland Transport submitted a joint request to the New Zealand Geographic Board for the four rail station names.
This month we also celebrated the release of the final designs for CRL stations, for Maungawhau Station (Mt Eden), Karanga a Hape Station (Karangahape) and Te Wai Horotiu Station (Aotea).
CRL Ltd has signed a new contract with rail specialists Martinus to complete a range of works around the Waitematā Station (Britomart), at the eastern end of the station.
In this section “Faces of the CRL” we talk to some of City Rail Link’s best and brightest. This month we turn the spotlight on Kaine, the newest member of our finance team.
The project hosted Green Party co-leaders James Shaw and Marama Davidson along with Auckland Central MP Chlöe Swarbrick on site at Maungawhau Station (Mt Eden) this month.
Next month as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography there will be two exhibitions of Mark Barber’s photography at the CRL information hubs, Te Manawa and Te Pukaki.
In the early dawn one morning in late May, representatives of our Mana Whenua Forum performed a moving karakia (blessing) at the opening of a new pedestrian path on the Normanby Road bridge over CRL works.
We are thrilled to have received the MATES in Construction NZ accreditation for the Te Wai Horotiu Station (Aotea) team and the Fenton Street team at Maungawhau Station (Mt Eden).
